Engadget reports that the Nokia N9 will no longer be available for sale in Hong Kong. While no press release has been issued so far , Engadget received an email from Nokia Hong Kong stating that the phone will not be available in the region. The Nokia N9 is Nokia’s first MeeGo based smartphone. The device is powered by a 1Ghz processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The beauty of the phone lies in its simple interface called Swipe UI. Nokia had previously demoed regional apps like Sina which are popular in SE Asia so it is definitely surprising to see that the phone is not making its way to more Asian markets.

The Nokia N9 or known as the Lankku is one of the first for the Finland based cellphone company. In fact, it has been one of the most phones that are worth the wait, with its revolutionary addition of the MeeGo Harmattan system as its OS, instead of the usual Symbian. Due to its firsts, Nokia has promised and guaranteed that N9 will be having its support system for quite a long time. Due to such pledge, Nokia loving people would not have to think twice in comparing it with an Apple or an Android phone.
This has been mentioned by Klas Ström, Head of Portfolio Management in Marketing for Nokia that he also a twitted of the undying assistance the company is willing to provide for the ever-anticipated phone. Since the N950 is also running on a MeeGo, it would also be riding on the support bandwagon too. In short, there is no need to worry since no abandonment would happen.
